Rooney Mara can do no wrong or at least that’s what it feels like. A new trailer for her upcoming film Una was released today which sees Mara chasing down Ben Mendelsohn uncovering dark secrets along the way. The debut feature from Austrailian director Benedict Andrews has already been making waves on the festival circuit with many critics praising Mara’s performance.

The following summary was included along with the trailer:

Una, based on David Harrower’s play Blackbird, follows a young woman’s journey to reclaim her past. 15 years earlier, Una ran away with an older man, Ray, a crime for which he was arrested and imprisoned. When she comes across a photo of him in a trade magazine, Una tracks him down and turns up at his workplace. Her abrupt arrival threatens to destroy Ray’s new life and derail her stability.

Unspoken secrets and buried memories surface as Una and Ray sift through the wreckage of the past. Their confrontation raises unanswered questions and unresolved longings. It will shake them both to the core. Una gazes into the heart of a devastating form of love and asks if redemption is possible.

With multiple credits to her name already in the books for 2017 including early awards contender A Ghost Story set for wide release next week, this looks to be a great year for Rooney Mara.

Una will arrive in UK theaters on September 1st with North American release dates presumably to follow.
