Johnny English 3 Announced for October 2018

- -

Working Title Studios has announced that the second sequel to the Johnny English series has officially begun production. Johnny English 3 is set to hit theatres in October 2018, and will once again star British comedy icon Rowan Atkinson in the title role.

Atkinson, who is widely known and critically acclaimed for his roles in the TV series “Blackadder” and “Mr. Bean”, first appeared as the bumbling secret agent Johnny English in the 2003 film of the same name. A spoof of the James Bond films and other spy flicks, the original film was written by acclaimed Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and went on to gross over $160 million at the box office.

A sequel followed in 2011 with “Johnny English Reborn”, which also found considerable success at the box office despite mixed critical reviews.

Amongst Rowan Atkinson’s other film roles include Zazu in The Lion King, a stuttering priest in Four Weddings and a Funeral, and a role in the 1983 Sean Connery Bond feature “Never Say Never Again”. He is recently starring on the ITV Network in Britain as Inspector Jules Maigret, in the series Maigret.
